However, when complements are needed in expressions that are typed using a computer keyboard, which is often done when using CAD tools, it is impractical to use overbars. Instead, either an apostrophe is placed after the variable, or an exclamation mark (!), the tilde character (~), or the world NOT is placed in front of the variable to denote the complementation.
